Speaker Restrictions
Speakers may not promote specific clinical studies except to mention briefly and in a low key manner at the end that they are conducting a trial. For example, they may say: "By the way, we are conducting a clinical study now in my office for people with COPD. There is a flyer on the back table and I would be happy to answer questions."
However, they may not, for example, say: "Now that we've talked about clinical trials in general, I would like to discuss a very interesting trial we are currently conducting in my office. The trial is for people over age 65 with COPD. You will not be charged for the study drug or visits. There is a small stipend for participating. There is a form on the table in back you can fill out if you are interested. Does anybody have any questions about the COPD trial?"
